Heavily defended behind a line of mines and barbed wire with troops dug in and with armour backup. Although the British armour was disadvantaged by lack of fuel following the loss of the fuel dump in the previous engagement, the minefield did it's job, dividing the German attack. Despite heavy losses the German advance was halted. The Afrika Korps must now fall back to the Wadi and go on the defensive.
Heavy losses on both sides. Reinforcements were lacking from the Allied side, so the next battle will be see the British at a disadvantage.
